Dr. Hamilton is a West Virginia native, growing up in the small town of Clay in central West Virginia. She decided she wanted to become an orthodontist the day she began her own orthodontic treatment at age 10. Her family dentist and cousin, along with her family, encouraged her to pursue a career in dentistry. Preparing for college, she took her studies very seriously and graduated from Clay County High School as Salutatorian in 1996.

Having been born and raised a Mountaineer fan, Jennifer had always planned to enroll at West Virginia University. She majored in Pre-Animal and Veterinary Sciences in order to take advantage of all the additional science classes and labs that were offered. This helped to better prepare her for dental school. She graduated summa cum laude from the WVU Honors Program with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000.

Out of the many applicants, Dr. Hamilton was chosen by the Admissions Committee to receive a full scholarship to WVU School of Dentistry. While completing her coursework in general dentistry, she spent extra time in the orthodontic clinic treating patients and completing a research project. She graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 2004 from WVU School of Dentistry. Dr. Hamilton was thrilled to receive her training in orthodontics at WVU as well. In 2007, all her hard work paid off as she earned her Master’s Degree and Certificate in Orthodontics. Immediately after graduation, she joined Dr. Richard E. McClung in his practice in Lewisburg and has taken over the practice solely since his retirement in January 2014.

Dr. Hamilton and her husband love biking, gardening and watching football.  They have two daughters attending WVU and WV Wesleyan and a son at Greenbrier East High School.  Growing up in a small town, Dr. Hamilton understands how neighbors helping neighbors can make a huge impact.  She is happy to be able to give back to the community by donating her time and money to various school, sports and community organizations.

Dr. Hamilton is an Associate Clinical Professor at the WVU School of Dentistry Department of Orthodontics with an emphasis on preparing dental students and orthodontic residents for the Board exams. In addition to teaching students, she has given professional lectures to doctors and staff of the WV Dental Association and Southern Association of Orthodontists and her Master's research was published in a scientific orthodontic journal.  Dr. Hamilton is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and keeps up-to-date on the most innovative techniques by attending regular orthodontic meetings and continuing education classes.
